ADULT CLINICAL OUTPATIENT SERVICES
Adult Comprehensive Outpatient Services
ACOS offers a wide array of Outpatient Mental Health Services. Our dedicated and professional staff include Licensed Therapists, Psychologist, Nurse Practitioner, Adult Board Certified Psychiatrists, Gerontologist, Peer Support Specialists as well as an array of Nursing supports. ACOS staff is committed to working with people throughout their lifespan in times of severe challenges as well as through the stressors of daily living. Additionally, staff remain sensitive to all sexual orientations, gender identities and cultural values.
Adult Services are targeted to individuals 18 years of age and older and include:
•Integrated health care with onsite pharmacy
•Medication Evaluation and Management
•Deaf and Hard of Hearing Outpatient Clinical Services
Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Information, Referral and Scheduling:
To schedule an appointment, please contact an ACOS Clinical Assistant 757 788-0244 or 757 788-0266. You will be asked about services which you are seeking and depending on your answer (children’s services, substance abuse, adult mental health services, etc.) you will be directed to the correct department. You may also be asked some additional routine questions to begin the scheduling process.
ACOS is a participating provider with most major insurance plans, Medicaid, Medicare and Tricare.
You will be scheduled to meet with a financial technician. Certain qualifying individuals may benefit from a sliding fee scale to reduce their cost of services.
Meet Our Team:
The Bright Beginnings program is a day treatment program developed as an alternative to inpatient treatment for adults with serious and persistent mental health conditions. The program provides comprehensive, coordinated, multi-disciplinary, intensive, time-limited treatment in a highly structured setting.
Regional Deaf Services
Regional Deaf Services is a regional program providing linguistically and culturally competent community mental health services for individuals age 6 + who are Deaf or hard of hearing (DHH), late deafened, or deafblind and who reside in Southeastern Virginia and are served by one of the 9 community services boards in Health Planning Region 5. These 9 CSBs are: Hampton/Newport News, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Virginia Beach, Western Tidewater, Eastern Shore, Colonial (Williamsburg), and Middle Peninsula/Northern Neck.
Hampton-Newport News CSB offers a milieu of deaf services that are accessible including direct therapy services, case management, and a psychosocial day program with sign-fluent providers. Additionally, we have a psychiatrist who has been seeing deaf individuals for over 30 years with an interpreter. All HNNCSB services are ADA compliant.
Program of Assertive Community Treatment (PACT)
The PACT program provides comprehensive community based treatment services to persons with severe and persistent mental illness in Hampton or Newport News who have been unable to make use of traditional outpatient mental health services.
