EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

 

Health and Vision Insurance – H-NNCSB offers the choice of the Anthem Lumenos HMO HRA or the Anthem Lumenos PPO HRA plans.  H-NNCSB funds the HRA (Health Reimbursement Account) to assist the employee with the annual deductible.  Vision benefits are included with both plans.

 

Dental Insurance – H-NNCSB offers the Anthem Dental Complete.

 

Flexible Spending – Flexible Spending accounts are available to pay for qualified medical, dental, vision and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.

 

Cancer/ICU and Accident Insurance - The Allstate Cancer/ICU and Accident insurance plans pay a benefit for covered services related to an accident, diagnosis or hospital confinement.   Benefit payments may be used to cover out-of-pocket medical expense.  Both plans offer a wellness or physician visit benefit.

 

Life Insurance - H-NNCSB provides full-time employees with group life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, at no cost the employee, equal to two times the employee’s annual earnings to a maximum of $400,000.  This policy also includes $5,000 spouse and $2,500 child dependent (birth to 19 years or 25 years if full-time student) coverage.   Employees may choose to purchase coverage on themselves in $10,000 increments up to a maximum of $100,000.

 

Virginia Retirement System (VRS) - The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board participates in the Virginia Retirement System (VRS).  VRS consists of three retirement plans and enrollment is determined by the employee’s membership date.  All full-time employees are automatically enrolled in one of the following VRS plans upon completion of the initial six (6) month probationary period and are required to contribute 5% of their creditable annual compensation to the plan.

 

Short and Long Term Disability - H-NNCSB offers full-time employees short and long term disability insurance.

 

403(b) Deferred Compensation Plan - H-NNCSB employees are eligible to save, tax deferred, for their retirement with a 403(b) Retirement Savings Plan through VALIC.

 

Legal Resources - A comprehensive legal plan that covers the attorney fees for the most commonly used legal services with a local network of law firms.  The plan covers you, your spouse, and your dependents and there are no usage limits, co-pays, or deductibles for fully covered services.

 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP) – The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offered through Bon Secours provides no-cost, confidential assistance whenever a problem or issue negatively affects an employee or their eligible family members – whether it’s at home, relationships with coworkers, job performance or satisfaction, or general well-being. This program offers assistance with a broad range of life issues including, but not limited to: stress, job concerns, depression, relationship or family difficulties, parenting issues, grief and loss, substance abuse, financial concerns, etc.

 

Annual Leave and Sick Leave – H-NNCSB provides employees with annual and sick to allow for time away from work without the loss of compensation.

 

Holidays – H-NNCSB provides employees with up to 10 paid holidays.

 

Wellness Program – H-NNCSB’s employees may join the one of the participating fitness centers and based on their monthly utilization receive a Wellness Subsidy.  In addition, the Employee Wellness Committee coordinates wellness activities.
