What is Rapid Access?

Instead of scheduling an intake appointment in advance for mental health and substance use disorder services, you may walk in to the locations listed above without an appointment and be seen the same day to complete registration paperwork and a clinical assessment. For child services, please call first to ensure we reserve a time.

Appointments for therapy services will be scheduled within 10 working days of your initial clinical assessment.

Can I See a Doctor Right Away?

We do not offer Rapid Access to psychiatric services; therefore, you will not see a doctor right way or receive medications on your first visit. Once your clinical assessment is complete, the clinician will provide information on your next steps, including how you can arrange to see a psychiatrist to get medication.

How Much Does it Cost?

If you have insurance, you will be responsible to pay the copayment established by your insurance company. If you do not have insurance and live in in Hampton and Newport News, you may qualify for a discounted rate based on your income and family size. Our Financial Services staff will assist you during your first visit to provide more information. 

What do I need to Bring?

• Photo identification
• Verification of your social security number
• Proof of family size (custody or guardianship documents, birth certificates, insurance cards, separation or divorce papers, etc.
• Proof of address
• Proof of income (last 2 paystubs, W-2, social security eligibility letter)
• Insurance card

All required documentation must be presented for registration to occur.
